Introduction

PET Woven Geotextiles are a woven( and in certain designs warp-knitted) geotextile made of high modulus polyester yarns.This high strength material can provide tensile strength up to 1600kN/m at a very low elongation and in maximum panel width of 5.2m.

PET Woven Geotexile strengthens low-bearing capacity soils,enables water to pass through and near perpendicular to the geotextile and prevents differing soil and aggregate particles from migrating and mixing under loads.

Properties Of PET Woven Geotextile

*Reinforcement

Woven geotextiles,with their high tensile strength and low elongation(high modulus)act as a reinforcement layer when the subsoil has poor mechanical properties and thus improves its load-bearing capacity.Placed under roads or railways embankments,it improves the global stability,if correctly designed.It solves load-bearing problems when roads,parking and service areas are built over soft soils.

*Separation

Woven geotextiles separates two layers of soil with different granulometry.For roads and service areas construction,if placed between the subsoil and the backfill aggregates,it prevents the gravels or crushed stones migration in the soft underlying soil.

*Filtration

Woven geotextiles act as traditional filters by allowing water to flow freely through them while preventing fine soil particles from migrating towards layers containing larger particle sizes.

Woven geotextiles are used in drainage trenches and as filters in the hydraulic works(under the rip-tap)protecting river and seashores.
