Biaxial Geogrid

What’s Biaxial Geogrid?

Lianyi® Biaxial Geogrid  is a new type of geosynthetic material used in civil engineering and road construction projects. They are typically made from polypropylene (PP),fiberglass yarns or polyester yarns and are characterized by their unique structural properties.

Tensile Strength: Biaxial geogrid has high tensile strength in two directions, known as the machine direction (MD) and cross direction(CD).This strength enables them to withstand significant loads and distribute forces effectively.

Aperture Size: Biaxial geogrid features a regular grid structure with uniform apertures or openings. The aperture size can vary depending on the specific application and desired engineering properties.

Rib Structure: These geogrids consist of ribs that run in the machine direction and are interconnected by junctions. The ribs provide stiffness and structural integrity, while the junctions facilitate load transfer between adjacent ribs.

Strain Characteristics: Biaxial geogrid exhibit low strain characteristics, meaning they have a minimal tendency to deform or elongate under load. This property helps maintain their integrity and load-bearing capacity over time.

Durability: Biaxial geogrid is designed to have excellent resistance to environmental factors such as chemical attack, UV degradation, and biological degradation. This durability ensures long-term performance in various soil conditions.

Soil Interaction: Biaxial geogrid form a mechanical bond with the surrounding soil, creating an interlocking effect. This interaction enhances soil reinforcement and provides stability to slopes, retaining walls, and other structures.

Installation Efficiency: Biaxial geogrid is typically supplied in roll form, allowing for easy transportation, handling, and installation. They can be deployed horizontally or vertically, depending on the specific application, and are commonly used in reinforcement layers within soil structures.

1.PP Biaxial Geogrid  is manufactured by polypropylene and produced using an extrusion and stretching method that yields geogrid with highly increased tensile strength properties in both machine and transverse directions. It’s specially designed for soil stabilization and reinforcement. The main types: 15-15kN/m,20-20kN/m,30-30kN/m,40-40kN/m,50-50kN/m,BX1100,BX1200.The roll size:2*50m,3.95*50m or 5.95*50m

2.Fiberglass Geogrid  is made of high strength E-glass fiberglass yarns, impregnated with bitumenious polymer to protect glassfiber and provide mesh dimensional stability. It’s specially designed for asphalt layer reinforcement and asphalt pavement reinforcement. The Main types:50-50kN/m,100-100kN/m,120-120kN/m,150-150kN/m,200-200kN/m,300-300kN/m.The mesh size:12.7*12.7mm,25.4*25.4mm,40*40mm,50*50mm.The roll size: 1*100m,2*100m,2.5*100m,3*100m,3.95*100m,5*100m,5.95*100m.

3.Polyester Biaxial Geogrid  is made of high modulus polyester yarns with special protective polymer impregnation.(Bitumen coating or PVC coating), The Main types:50-50kN/m,100-100kN/m,200-200kN/m,300-300kN/m,400-400kN/m,500-500kN/m,600-600kN/m,700-700kN/m,800-800Kn/m,900-900Kn/m,1000-1000kN/m.The mesh size: 12.7*12.7mm,25.4*25.4mm, 40*40mm,50*50mm.The roll size: 1*100m,2*100m,2.5*100m,3*100m,3.95*100m,5*100m,5.95*100m.
